The Warrior Games

The Department of Defense Warrior Games highlighted 265 wounded warrior athletes representing the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, SOCOM, and the UK and Australia.  The Games were established in 2010 as a way to enhance the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded warriors and to expose them to adaptive sports.   Chicago won the bid to host the first off-base games and they reached out to Edelman to bring the games to life by branding the games, creating everything from the OOH campaign to the stage motion graphics to the way-finding signage at all events.

The week of events started with Opening Ceremonies and over 20,000 people cheered as our athletes were introduced to and celebrated by the city of Chicago on a world-class stage. Throughout the week, nearly 60,000 people attended the Games at one or more of these events the team supported seven competitions (archery, field, swimming, cycling, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, shooting).
